Let’s end 2020 on a high note!

Happy End of 2020! Humanity is still traveling a path through a COVID-19 pandemic. Wellspring is now a “first responder” on a new wave of a mental health pandemic including surges in anxiety, depression, and traumatic effects on the younger generations that will be present for years to come (Beheshti, 2020).

Year in Review

  • Wellspring has had 650 new clients in 2020 and over 30% of those clients came to Wellspring during the initial phase of the pandemic.

  • The pandemic has pushed us to be within a click of a button of anyone in the state of Florida, as well as in other states that have opened up for mental health providers to hold sessions to their residents.

  • Through the 3rd quarter of 2020, Wellspring has given $119,000 in financial aid.

  • Wellspring shifted to host one of our first online fundraising events, bringing awareness to mental health stigmas and reaching over 6800 people through social media.

  • Our team then shifted Bounce! to an online format via Zoom for June and July. With 37 students participating, we found the program to be equally effective.

We need your support for us to address the surge of mental health needs.

Wellspring’s 2021 Goals directly link to addressing the pandemic through accessibility, accelerated healing, and alternative avenues of reach.

  1. Accessible Services: Financial Aid for those who are under-resourced. Affordable services for middle-income families through donor dollars which allow for Wellspring to receive lower payouts from in-network insurance.

  2. Accelerated Healing: Programs to help people recover from trauma more quickly through intensive counseling and retreats.

  3. Alternative Avenues: Mental health webinars and courses that free people to “do their own work”, pursuing mental health on their own timetable.

Will you consider giving in some ways that will help sustain our services?

  1. Pray and share about our mental health services and programs – Use social media to communicate mental health options to your friends and family. We now have the Free Wellspring Counseling App (Apple Store and Google Play) and the Wellspring Store, which has both free and for-purchase items to advance mental health awareness and education.

  2. Become a Wellspring Sustaining Giver – You can set up an online monthly gift to make sure Wellspring’s services continue to be more accessible and sustainable.

  3. Contribute specifically to the Dr. Edward Burke Financial Aid Fund for youth who need mental health services – In 2019, Wellspring established the Dr. Edward Burke Financial Aid Fund in honor of Dr. Burke who spent his life dedicated to teaching youth and passed away from a mental health crisis. His wife, Mrs. Madeleine Burke, shared her story as a feature story in the Shattering the Stigma Event this year. She wants his memory honored by helping under resourced youth who are struggling with mental health.

  4. Send a gift of any amount – We are grateful for your support and will steward these resources to fight the mental health pandemic in 2021.

  • Checks payable to: Wellspring Counseling, 14401 Old Cutler Road, Palmetto Bay, FL 33158

Thank you for your partnership in this mission and may the peace of Christmas, remembering God sent Jesus to us, fill your heart and home. God cares and He holds 2021!

The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)

All the best for 2021,
